At Ponsonby, our parent dogs are extremely important to us. Their happiness and quality of life is always a huge consideration in our breeding decisions. Ponsonby parent dogs receive the best quality of care from grooming to veterinary attention, daily exercise and high quality, grain free and raw food. They live in our home with us, or with a loving and dedicated Guardian Family as cherished pets.

Each Ponsonby parent dog has been carefully chosen based on their temperament, health, coat quality and beauty. We choose calm, affectionate and intelligent dogs that will pass on these specific traits to their puppies.

All our breeding dogs have been DNA cleared for health by Wisdom Panel. Be it Goldendoodle, Irishdoodle, or Labradoodle, Standard or Mini, we stand behind our puppies and their parents every step of the way.

Ponsonby’s Cotton is a beautiful, 70lb English Cream Golden Retriever. She loves her people and enjoys active outdoor time. Cotton is a dog who thrives with routine and loving firmness. She loves to be the centre of attention with her vocal chatty nature and a fondness for rolling around on the floor at your feet. Cotton has turned out to be an excellent mother and will be bred in late 2022 to Rooney or Rocky for Standard sized puppies.

Lacey is a sweet natured dog who lives with a large family. She has daily contact with children and toddlers and is very well behaved around them. She also gets on well with other dogs and especially enjoys a game of fetch or, rolling around with her indoor toys. Lacey is a retriever style Doodle weighing 55lbs, with wavy golden fur. Darling Monet with her flame-red curls is a real head turner. She is our Medium, Standard sized Irish Doodle weighing 65lbs. Her fur quality is silky and smooth. She sheds little to nothing and her coat type is known as “fleece.” Smart, affectionate and extremely athletic. Monet is a sensitive soul who deeply loves her people. Because she is an F1 generation doodle, Lizzie’s coat grows long and wavy and is known as a “teddy bear” coat. Her big doe eyes & black nose are simply scrumptious. PONSONBY’S ROCKY, KING SIZED STANDARD POODLE

At 65lbs and standing 26 inches at the shoulder, Rocky is our gentle giant. Sweet and sensitive, and gentle with dogs and people, Rocky’s favorite place to curl up indoors is at the foot of the bed. Outside Rocky has stamina and enthusiasm for life. He loves to hike and gallop through the fields that surround Ponsonby. Rocky’s coat is a pale Apricot with liver coloured points and stunning amber eyes. Being a Poodle, his coat does not shed and is wonderfully soft and fuzzy. Ponsonby’s rooney, Deep Red Standard Poodle

Born in June of 2020, our wonderful Rooney is growing into a kind and brave soul. Charting for an adult weight of 55 lbs, Rooney will be a medium sized Standard Poodle. Rooney is calm and lovable. His intelligence and gentle nature has shone through since the first day he arrived with us. He lives with his Guardian family near Ponsonby Ontario and is a great companion to the children in his family. Rooney’s deep red fur is rich and rare in colour, and will lend its completely non-shedding quality to the Irish Doodles & Goldendoodles he will sire in the future.

Posnonby’s Henry, Irish Setter

Henry is a stunning example of his breed. Weighing 60lbs, he is Hunt and Breed Club registered and is a true joy to all who know him. Henry is social, confident and even tempered. He loves his people, is extremely athletic and especially loves his time outside. Henry is a young dog whose his training is coming along well. He will be bred to Ponsonby’s Stella in 2021, and in future years to our purebred Standard Poodle and Irish Setter mamas.

PONSONBY’S murphY, ginger f1b standard Goldendoodle

Born in September of 2020, Murphy is the son of our beloved Rocky, and our most beautiful Elizabeth Grace. Charting for an adult weight of 75 lbs he will be our largest sire, Murphy’s personality is turning out to be just as gentle, cuddly and intelligent as his parents. We are very excited about Murphy joining our breeding program because his parents are such wonderful dogs and we look forward to continuing this lovable, healthy and intelligent bloodline. Murphy’s coat is soft and loosely curled. His colour is ginger and will fade slightly as he ages. He will be bred to Ponsonby’s Teeva in 2022.

Ponsonby’s SERGEANT PEPPER

Sweet little Sgt. Pepper is just 12lbs full grown. This Miniature Poodle is lovable, curious, sociable, smart as a whip, and the house entertainer. His deep red fur is rich and rare in colour, and its texture is thick and fleecy. It never sheds. Sgt. Pepper’s puppies will mature between 18-35 lbs, depending on the dam he is bred to.

Ponsonby’s pico

AKC Registered Toy Poodle Pico is just 8 lbs soaking wet. His colour is deep Apricot Parti (colour on white), and he is completely non shedding. Pico’s disposition is sweet, gentle and extremely loving. Despite his small size, Pico is active. He loves to run, jump, play and hike with the big dogs. Ponsonby’s tigger

Posnonby’s Tigger is an AKC Registered Miniature/Moyen Poodle weighing in at 16lbs. His non-shedding, rich red curls are contrasted by his white points, which classify his markings as a red-on-white Tuxedo. Tigger is a good natured and loyal soul who gazes into his human’s eyes while he waits for a cuddle. He is also great with other dogs, he loves to play, and curls up at the end of the day with his Aussie-doodle big brother Cole.
